Rev. Brenda's sermons have resonated with me, especially September 11th's "Perfection by Practice," where Rev. Brenda broadly considered our human quandary of longing for perfection and settling for mostly coming up short. "It's Ok to just go through the motions," she allowed, "it's Ok sometimes to just show up," she said, letting me off the hook for many occasions where that's all I could do.
Come visit First Church for words of wisdom, this week's sermon, The Great Reversal--what's that all about? Come for music for the soul, refreshments, conversation, and a mini-workshop on discovering the life you were born to live. Childcare available. Based mainly on the book by Dan Millman, The Life You Were Born to Live. Bring the exact birth dates (day, month and year) of the people in your life with whom you wish to better relate.

Child care is provided every Sunday at First Church--just ask about it as you come in, at the front door; parking is available on Court Street & in the surrounding neighborhood.

I am an atheist, but open to listening to all beliefs and thoughts, so I read this weekly notice about the upcoming church events with interest. I really like the idea stated here that its sometimes ok to just show up. I agree completely, and I appreciate these posts, which I can get something out of even though I will never attend a church service.
