The Community Health Center, headquartered in Middletown, launched it's anti-childhood obesity campaign, Recess Rocks at Macdonough Elementary School on Spring Street Wednesday morning. The first Recess Rocks session were held in partnership with Macdonough four years ago.
Recess Rocks is an umbrella campaign which features a unique in-class exercise routine featuring music and dance linked to curriculum.
September 8 was named Recess Rocks Day in Connecticut by Governor Jodi Rell, and California Governor Arnold Scwarzanegger declared it Recess Rocks Day in his his state as well.
It was also the launch of a Recess Rocks Contest which encourages students and groups to submit videos containing ideas for prevention of childhood obesity.

i am a happy mother of twins boya that are in macdonough school. they are both so happy to be a part of recess rocks. good job to all the kids in our home town and all over the us
