At the request of Common Council member Vinnie Loffredo, Mayor Sebastian Giuliano released the review of police chief candidates by an outside panel of experts hired by the city.
According to Loffredo, candidates Michael Custer and Peter Agnesi recieved top ratings of the group rated, though not the highest ratings possible. Both Custer and Agnessi were rated ready to lead the department with "significant" acceptability. Both Acting Chief Patrick McMahon, and Acting Deputy Chief Gregory Sneed receive a slightly lower rating which indicated they were indeed ready and prepared to lead the department but at a "moderately" acceptable rate.
Loffredo also complained that the background information for the ratings, which he requested from the mayor, had not been provided.
"What we got was a part of that report, and not the whole report," Loffredo said. "And we deserve to see the entire report."
