An Evening in the Wine Cellar -- A Future for Our Past

The Middlesex County Historical Society has been presented with a unique opportunity by long-time members of the Society who own an historic 18th century home in Durham with a wine cellar carved into the hillside of their property. They have offered to host a fundraiser to help us fundraise for our Capital Campaign--An Evening of Hors d’oeuvres and Wine Pairings in the Cellar on Friday, October 1, from 6 to 8 pm. Their wine cellar is so large that we can all move inside in the event of rain. Please join us as we listen to the sounds of a minstrel strolling the grounds by the pond and hear the history of this wonderful old property. Wine expert Richard Kamins will present his wine choices and explain his pairings with the food served.

Date: Friday, October 1st, 2010

Time: 6 to 8 pm

Dress: Business casual suggested

Donation: $75.00 per person

This event is limited to the first 75 people; please respond by September 24th to 860-346-0746.

Funds raised will benefit the Society’s capital campaign “A Future For Our Past,” which seeks to pay for the recently Installed HVAC system at the General Mansfield House, which keeps both our historic collection and our valued executive director warm in the Winters and cool in the Summers. A special thanks to the member hosts of this event and to Liberty Bank for underwriting this event; we couldn't do it without you!
