The Jonah Center for Earth and Art invites the public to learn about the area known as “South Cove” on Tuesday, October 11 at 7 pm. This acreage on the Connecticut River between Union Street and Eastern Drive will be available for redevelopment after our city’s riverfront wastewater treatment plant is decommissioned sometime in the next decade. William Warner, Middletown’s Director of Planning, Conservation and Development, will lead this discussion.

This event is an opportunity for the public to express their hopes and ideas for this strategic area. Using maps and photos, Mr. Warner will explain the various zoning, traffic, and clean-up issues that pertain to various parcels in this section of the city’s waterfront. To make the most of this once-in-a-century development opportunity, citizens need to be informed and to offer thoughtful feedback so our community can realize our best vision for South Cove.
