I think the candidates should be asked about a note sent to the parents of Lawrence School children that stated that "due to budget constraints there is a shortage of paper and therefore no written home work will be assigned --and that reading is the most important activity". No wonder Middletown Schools score low on tests. When I went to school the three R's were the most important subjects. For you Lawrence Shool teachers the three R's stand for reading, writing and arithmetic (you call it mathematics now)". Now here is a novel ideas, why can't the parents supply the paper or God forbid the supertendent return his raise so paper can be purchased?

I would like the candidates to make a comment on the following Lawrence School note.
"There is a shortage of paper at Lawrence School due to budget constraints. ---therefore no written home work will be assigned -- and that reading is the most important activity". Now here are a couple of novel ideas, the parents can buy their children a note book or God forbid the supertendent could return his raise and we can buy paper.
