The annual Penguin Plunge sponsored by the Middletown Falcons Post celebrated a decade of cold water plunges Saturday when more than 200 people registered to brave the frigid waters of Crystal Lake for a good cause - Special Olympics.Acting Police Chief Patrick McMahon takes the plunge.
Groups from all over the state made the trip to Crystal Lake to take a February dip on a balmy mid-40 degree day. The groups included the Middletown Parks and Recs Department, Middletown Police, the Middletown Falcons, Rocky Hill High School, Daniels Energy, Miss Greater Waterbury Association, Ruthless for Life Motorcycle Club, the Connecticut Parrotheads Club and many others.
