Abducted Baby Found Safe in Middletown

Today at approximately 3:45pm The Middletown Police Department received a routine call from Aetna Security at 1000 Middle St stating that a young female child was walking around.

The female child was located by a utility worker in Aetna’s parking lot.

The child was transported to Hartford Children’s Hospital and is expected to be released soon. The child’s father is with her at the hospital.

The Child located at Aetna was confirmed to be the missing child issued in the Amber Alert earlier today from Swansea Massachusetts.

Investigators on scene secured a security video of the Aetna parking lot.

At this time the investigation in on going and has been turned over to our Special Investigations Unit who will be working in conjunction with Massachusetts State Police.

Various TV stations in Boston are reporting that the girl is 18 months old and completely unharmed. She was abducted at a gas station in Swansea, allegedly by Kimberly Johnson, 38. Police have said that Johnson may be traveling in a silver or gray Kia Rio station wagon with a Minnesota license plate.
