Child Hit By Postal Truck on East Street

On Saturday, July 10, 2010 at approximately 2:00 P.M., a motor vehicle versus juvenile collision occurred in the area of 703 East Street.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a US Postal truck, operated by, Mr. Stephen Stublarec, age: 44, of Rockfall, was traveling in a northerly direction on East Street. The juvenile, age 12, was walking in a northerly direction on the grass on the east side of East Street. The juvenile attempted to cross East Street in a westerly direction, and stepped into the path the of US Postal truck.

As a result of the collision, the juvenile was transported by LIFESTAR Air Medical Helicopter to Hartford Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
