Accident on South Main

On Sunday, July 4, 2010 at approximately 12:48 P.M., a serious motor vehicle collision occurred in the area of 2286 South Main Street.  

The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Chevy Blazer, operated by Jose Nivicela-Ortiz, age 26, of East Hartford, was traveling in a southerly direction on South Main Street.  A 2008 Volvo XC90, operated by Judith Gassner, age 46, of Guilford, was traveling in a northerly direction on South Main Street.  Subsequently, the Chevy Blazer traveled left of roadway center and struck the 2008 Volvo. 

As a result of the collision, Mr. Nivicela-Ortiz was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and is listed in stable condition.  The pregnant passenger of the 2000 Chevy sustained serious injuries and was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital.  The passenger is listed in critical condition; however, the passenger’s fetus sustained fatal injuries.  The passenger’s identity is not being released at this time. 

Four occupants of the Volvo were transported to Middlesex Hospital and subsequently were released.

I'm sure this poor woman would really think of her baby as a fetus. This is extremely biased reporting and obviously shows the sickened stance of our society. This was her child, unborn or not, not a fetus!

Her unborn child was tragically killed.

This was a verbatim report from the Police written in official police english. There is no bias reporting. The only bias is in your mind.
