In another of it's effort to promote recycling, the city of Middletown distributed rain barrels it made available for purchase to residents. The recycled olive barrels are easily attached to downspouts to catch rainwater for use in watering plants and lawns around the house.
On Saturday 150 rain barrels were distributed along with 92 composting bins.
