From the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber hosted a meeting with U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman on Monday, June 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Pegasus Manufacturing, Inc. in Middletown.
In the roundtable meeting, 15 business leaders from Middlesex County were invited to attend. The purpose of the meeting was to allow Senator Lieberman to gather information from the local business community regarding healthcare issues in the business sector. The Senator sought out feedback from these representatives of the business community to identify the types of government action that would assist them versus actions that may be an impediment.
Healthcare is a major priority for President Obama, and Lieberman, along with Congress, expects to work through the summer on healthcare legislation in order to present the President with a bill by October of this year.
