Bipolar
Disorder, Opiods, Fingerprinting and Journalism among Many Topics Presented at
College’s Second Academic Convivium
For
the second year, MxCC students will make oral and visual presentations of their
original research during the College’s academic convivium which takes place this Friday,
April 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Founders Hall on the Middletown
campus. This formal event allows nearly 40 students to showcase their rigorous research
work on 30 separate topics in fields such as biotechnology, social sciences,
criminal justice, law, engineering, and education. The public is encouraged to attend this
impressive display of academic excellence.
Students
will make oral presentations during morning and afternoon sessions held in the
student lounge in Founders Hall.
Students will be on hand to discuss poster presentations from 11:45 a.m.
– 12:45 p.m. in the cafeteria and in the Pavilion. Posters will be on display throughout the day
for further review. Many faculty who guided students’ research throughout the
academic year will also be present throughout the day.
“We
are so impressed that students embraced the concept of an academic convivium at
MxCC again this year, putting in a tremendous amount of time and effort to
participate,” said Dr. Anna Wasescha, president of MxCC. “The topics this year are extremely relevant
to our world today, illustrating how our students analyze and contemplate
issues that affect lives. This is an
exciting new tradition and we welcome the public to our campus to be a part of
it.”
