The Common Council will have it's final hearing on the 2016-2017 city budget on Thursday, April 28, 7PM in Council Chambers in City Hall. This is a designated opportunity for the public to speak out on any aspect of the budget.
After the budget hearing on the Board of Education budget, it's expected that residents, parents, students and teachers will once again gather to lend support to the Superintendent's proposed budget.
As the agenda stands now, the Council has created a two-hour window for public comments. No Council vote on the budget is scheduled.
The Common Council is required to vote on the budget by May 13. On the night they vote on the budget, the public will once again have an opportunity to speak during the regular public session of the Common Council meeting.
