MIDDLESEX COUNTY TOASTMASTERS

On September 8th, members of the Middlesex County Toastmasters and many guests enjoyed a lively and entertaining talk from guest speaker Michael Aron, “What is in it for Me”.

Michael kept the audience laughing as he shared his own Toastmasters journey though his early speeches in the club and entering speech contests. He shared how taking on leadership roles in the West Hartford Toastmasters club and outside the club in Toastmasters District 53 gave him the confidence to take on new responsibilities at work and even chair his wife’s campaign run for the state legislature.

If you would like to learn more about Toastmasters and how it might help your personal and professional development, the club’s next meeting will be on September 22, 2011, and will feature the club’s Fall Humorous and Table Topics Contests. These fun contests will feature the club members competing against each other to develop and deliver humorous speeches on topics of their own choosing, or 1-2 minute impromptu speeches on a topic they won’t hear until contest time.

The club’s last meeting of the month will be on September 29, 2011, and will be a “speech-a-thon”. Up to eight speakers will present an array of speeches, with a wide variety of topics and speech objectives.

The Middlesex County Toastmasters has been helping its members develop leadership skills and become more comfortable speaking in front of an audience for 20 years. Guests are always welcome, with no cost or obligation. All meetings are held at Middlesex Community College, 100 Training Hill Road, Middletown, from 7-9 pm. Please see
