"This is unlike no other workshop I've never been invited to"

The Water Control Pollution Authority (WPCA) section of Wednesday's Common Council workshop was over before it started.

The section began with a complex introduction by Councilman and WPCA member James Streeto who attempted to clarify what was up for discussion in the first part of this section of the meeting.  Streeto was hoping to hold a workshop on the legal authority of the WPCA.

The discussion was postponed because Council members complained that they didn't have the appropriate paper work to review before the discussion.

During the second section of the meeting, the Council was scheduled to receive a financial review of the Water and Sewer Department by director Guy Russo.  Trouble was, no one informed Russo ahead of time.

Russo was at the meeting, as were other members of his department.

"We were never invited," Russo insisted after being called the podium by Council member Vinnie Loffredo.  "We just came to the meeting because we heard about it and we wanted to see what would happen."  Russo then issued the line which is the title to this blogpost.  His triple-negative was biting, and hilarious.

Russo was prepared to make a financial summary of activity in his department when he was interrupted by Council Phil Pessina who declared that an "intelligent discussion" was impossible if Russo was not prepared to present.  Pessina called for adjournment, and after a few moments of discussion, the vote was called, and while there seemed to be equal sentiment for adjournment, and continuation of the meeting, Councilman Joe Bibisi, who was chairing the meeting called for adjournment.
