Monday January 4:
Every Monday night, The Buttonwood Tree and J-Cherry hosts an Open Mic at 8 p.m. with sign-ups at 7:30 pm.  Poets, musicians, writers and actors are all welcome to share the spotlight.

Tuesday January 5:
The Buttonwood has a new art exhibition opening on this day. It features the oil paintings of MAC650 member Erika Arneson and will be "up" through the month of January.  The Opening Reception is this coming Sunday (1/10) from 3 - 5 p.m.

Thursday January 7:

Middletown Teen Theater presents "The Crucible" at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Middletown High School, LaRosa Lane. Written in 1953 by Arthur Miller ("Death of a Salesman"), the play is concerned with the "Witch Trials" held in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692 and 1693.  Miller likened the events in that era to the anti-Communists attacks on American citizens by Senator Joseph McCarthy in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The cast of 19 will also present the play at 7:30 on Friday in the same venue.  For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.middletownteentheater.com.
