Interesting show, especially the segment in which Chernoff discussed the Coginchaug-Mattabassett estuary. It made me want to finally buy a kayak and explore it myself. Please invite Chernoff back again to discuss his research on the same topic. For 10 years I lived on West Street, just south of the bridge over the railroad tracks. We moved to Durham not long after the intersection of West Street and Route 66 was "improved," which dramatically increased traffic on West Street, 24/7. But between Middletown and Durham, the Coginchaug has been a fixture in my life for 30 years, and I am concerned for its welfare. I was distressed to hear that the recent construction on Route 66 added to its problems.
