Community Health Center To Break Ground For New Headquarters Monday November 22

WHAT:           Ground-breaking ceremony for Community Health Center, Inc.’s (CHC) new Community Health Center of Middletown, a state-of-the-art facility that will increase the center’s capacity and allow for better integration of health care services. The ground-breaking was made possible, in part, by $7 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Affordable Care Act.

WHO:              U.S. Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-CT); Mark Masselli, president and CEO of CHC; Margaret Flinter, APRN, Ph.D., senior vice president and clinical director of CHC; CHC of Middletown health care providers; Larry McHugh, president of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce; civic and business leaders and local community members
WHEN:           Monday, November 22 from 10 to 11 a.m.

WHERE:         Parking lot at the corner of Main and Grand streets – the future home of the Community Health Center of Middletown

WHY:              Under the health care reform law, the expansion of insurance coverage and Medicaid will result in an increased demand for primary and preventive care. The new, larger facility will allow CHC to expand and build upon the services it offers, as well as extend its medical, dental and behavioral health services to 6,000 more uninsured and underserved individuals in the Middletown area.

The P&Z board has now banned anymore health care facilities down town. Its really a shame for Middletown because this is going to be a great facility and addition to Middletown!!
