Financial Literacy Seminar Decemeber 2

The Middlesex United Way Women’s Initiative is hosting a free financial literacy workshop called “Understanding Money & Credit” on Thursday, December 2 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. The session will take place at Middlesex Community College in Chapman Hall. Anyone is welcome to attend and breakfast will be provided.

“Understanding Money & Credit” is a training module from Money Management International, a nonprofit credit counseling agency dedicated to providing financial education to help people improve their lives. The workshop will be co-facilitated by Rosa Carrero, Community Outreach Office at Liberty Bank and Women’s Initiative member, and Sheryle McMillan of Money Management International.

Participants will receive a free workbook to help them on their path to financial stability. Also, the first 50 people in attendance receive a padfolio with calculator. During the session, participants will:
·      Assess their current financial situation;
·      Learn how to set financial goals;
·      Understand the cost of credit; and
·      Create a budget based on their income.

Middlesex Community College is located at 100 Training Hill Road in Middletown. The workshop takes place in Chapman Hall, sides C & D. This workshop is sponsored by the United Way Women’s Initiative with additional support from Liberty Bank and Middlesex Community College.

The United Way Women’s Initiative is a group of caring women dedicated to creating opportunities for a better life for all women and children in Middlesex County by giving, advocating and volunteering in support of them. Why isn't this taught in our schools? This program makes more sense than the SRO boondoggle.
