There will be a vigil held on the South Green on Main Street tonight, at 7PM, in memory of the children and teachers killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown.

This is tacky- this is where churches should do this not a government sanctioned event presided over by a mayor and city officials
Why would you consider this tacky. Having a vigil on public space is comforting. I'm not a church goer, so I appreciate the town sharing in this and showing Newtown that Middletown is here for support.
My wife and I attended the vigil for the Newtown Children last night on the South Green. It was very comforting everyone coming together like that. We only wish we could have heard what the speakers were saying. It seems that the public address system was underpowered and/or not working correctly.
