A Fine Prospect at Wadsworth Mansion

The Middletown Garden Club presents A Fine Prospect, a flower show at the Wadsworth Mansion, 421 Wadsworth Street in Middletown, on Wednesday, October 30th from 1-5 pm. Admission is free.

The show features floral arrangements that interpret Colonel and Mrs. Clarence Wadsworth’s elegant lifestyle and the mansion’s flawless architecture and impressive landscape. In addition to floral arrangements crafted by Master floral arrangers from Connecticut and Rhode Island, the show will include a horticultural display of flowers and plants grown by exhibitors; a conservation exhibit will highlight the work of the club and community leaders to restore the Wadsworth Mansion.

At its peak, in 1934, the estate hosted more than 1000 guests who attended the wedding reception of the Wadsworths' son and daughter in law.  Now, the magnificently restored city-owned estate is the site of showers, weddings, parties, concerts and corporate and charity events.

The public is welcome to enjoy the flower show at the Mansion on October 30th. Directions can be found here.
