Hats for a Cause is a fundraising event sponsored by Middletown non-profit, Artists For World Peace.
Created last year by the group, an auction of hats at Cold Stone Creamery in Middletown raised more than $4000 to build a safe house for battered women in Cambodia.
This year, the event is part of Sunday's Winter Carnivale in Chester. 100% of proceeds raised from this year's auction will be distributed to local food banks in Middletown and around the state, and New Horizon's Women's Shelter in Middletown. 125 hats, designed and created by state artists will be available in the auction.
