Middletown men's softball: The Middletown Men's Adult Softball League will hold registration on March 5 from 6-8 p.m. at the Westfield Fire Station. Softball umpires: The Middlesex ASA Umpires Association is seeking persons who would like to become board-certified softball umpires. For information, contact state umpire-in-chief Hank Koritkoski at 860-347-4745 or hank.donnak@comcast.net. The process will be completed with a clinic and test on March 21 at 9 a.m. at Wilson Middle School in Middletown.

Westlake Drive residents no longer have a softball field. 15% of the city's population used to have one in the defunct Westlake Park.
