K. LaMay, the Meriden-based steamed cheeseburger
restaurant which opened just over a year ago on Main Street, has closed.
On recent evening walks, I'd noticed a handwritten sign on K. LaMay's
window saying "Re-open at 11:30 pm", as they made a bid for the
late-night Main Street dollar.
This morning, there’s a banner announcing a new
restaurant to open on October 8th after renovations. No word yet on who
the new owner or operator will be.
