Are you looking for a nice, cozy and warm place to relax, enjoy a hot delicious meal, listen to some live music performed by Wesleyan students, and connect with your family and friends post-snowpocalypse? Or perhaps you would just like to eat for a good cause? Either way, be sure to join us for a night full of music, laughs and good food! Brighter Dawns is proud to announce it's first annual Homecoming and Family Weekend Benefit Dinner, November 5th from 12-9PM at the Mattabesett Canoe Club. The Canoe Club is located at 80 Harbor Park Drive right off of Middletown's beautiful Main Street, featuring an indoor bar and grille downstairs and balconies overlooking the CT River upstairs. The event is open to the entire Middletown community and we would love to see you there! Present this mailing [the image alongside this story] with your bill and 10% of your check will go directly to our mission to improve the health conditions in the slums of Bangladesh!
Brighter Dawns is a non-profit organization committed to helping solve health issues in Ward 12, a slum in Khalishpur, Khulna, Bangladesh. Brighter Dawns aims to provide the slums of Bangladesh ease of access to liquid life — clean water — while empowering women and improving health conditions as part of a larger initiative. Thanks to successful events, fundraisers, grants, community support and hard work, Brighter Dawns embarked upon its first mission over the summer, constructing 15 wells, 20 latrines and distributing 1,000 health kits to help promote clean sanitation in Ward 12. We are now planning on expanding our projects this coming summer, focusing on maternal care and women's empowerment. Brighter Dawns has been featured in The Chicago Tribute, The Middletown Press, The Middletown Patch, The Wesleyan Connection, The Hartford Courant, The Wesleyan Argus and many online blogs, and most recently, on ABC news.
