Fall Classes Begin on Monday

Now that school is back in full swing, families are looking for those after school activities that keep everyone excited and involved all year long. Interested parents and children can visit Oddfellows Playhouse’s newly redesigned website to view the entire line up of classes and to register.

New this season, Oddfellows is offering classes for preschoolers. “Theater Toddlers,” a 10-week classfor 24 -36 month-olds, is designed to give caregivers and children the chance to explore movement and music together. Children will be free to express their creativity through dance and songs. This class begins on 9/22.

“Little Fellows” is a 10-week class for three to four year-olds. Each week our “Little Fellows” will explore a different story through song, dance and musical instruments. This class begins on 9/22.

Saturday mornings are a one-stop shop this fall. At 9am Oddfellows Complete Actor 1 (Ages 6-8) and Complete Actor 2 (Ages 9-11) run simultaneously along with the newly added “First Act” for children ages five and six. These classes are a wonderful way to introduce your already imaginative and creative child to the world of theater through games, activities, art projects, movement and songs.

Three new technical theater classes have been added for older children and teens ages 12-20 focusing on the technical aspects of theater including learning the ins and outs of stage design. Each class will focus on specific elements including painting and construction of sets, using sound and creating lighting designs to help tell the story.

Oddfellows Playhouse is located at 128 Washington Street, Middletown. For 35 years Oddfellows Playhouse has been more than just a performing arts program. It aims to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by using the arts as tools to build self-confidence, communication skills, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation for the richness and diversity of the world in which we live.
