This week, Democrat Mary Bartolotta was officially endorsed by State Senator Matt Lesser and State Representative Quentin “Q” Phipps. Bartolotta has also been endorsed by the Building Trades Council and the Carpenters union.

State Senator Matt Lesser took the opportunity on Tuesday to speak about why he was supporting Bartolotta. “Mary is the most qualified candidate for Mayor and will hit the ground running on day one,” Senator Lesser stated. “I know her as a person of integrity who knows how to bring Middletown together to improve the quality of life for residents.”

State Representative Quentin Phipps shared in Lesser’s enthusiasm on Tuesday. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mary for the past eight years, and I have always appreciated her work ethic, in depth understanding of the issues, and decision to always put the interests of everyday people first.” Representative Phipps stated. “She is a policy wonk who works diligently to learn every issue thoroughly and it is that thoughtful leadership, along with her moral fortitude and experience that will make her an exceptional mayor.”

Mary Bartolotta is the endorsed Democratic candidate for Mayor and will appear on Row A of the ballot on September 10th. She currently serves as Deputy Majority Leader on the Middletown Common Council and Commissioner of the South Fire District. She announced her candidacy for mayor in March.
