We will launch at the Wesleyan boathouse next to Harbor Park restaurant, paddle 1 mile upriver with the help of the incoming tide up to the Mattabesset River and then less than 1 mile into the amazing “floating meadows” to see the osprey nesting platforms and many other birds (swallows, red-winged blackbirds, and plants. We will investigate the Coginchaug River to examine blockages in the river that the Jonah Center has obtained permission to remove, if that can be safely accomplished.
