WESU Spring Pledge Drive

The weather is getting beautiful just in time for WESU’s Spring Pledge Drive! For over 75 years, WESU 88.1FM Middletown has been serving the greater Connecticut area with original music and talk shows thanks to your listener support. As a community radio station with over 150 staff members, WESU depends on creative and passionate volunteers. This year, the station has begun to implement exciting studio upgrades, including a new mixing board, new rugs, reconfigured studio space, and a digital studio reservation systemand the station is looking forward to even more upgrades this coming year, like new computers with updated software. None of this would be possible without your generous support!

Over the past ten years, WESU has experienced many landmark moments, including 70th and 75th anniversaries with appearances by Democracy Now! Host Amy Goodman and an amazing concert with living legends of Doo Wop, vintage Rhythm & Blues, and Rock & Roll. The station has also continued to collaborate with the Middletown community with shows like Middletown

Youth Radio Project and with the Wesleyan faculty with a new course on community radio production. WESU hopes to continue to experiment with all of radio’s unique possibilities with its community!

Thank you to all of the supporters who have already contributed to the station’s spring pledge drive goal! WESU is a unique radio station with a mix of talk and free form music programming, and they depend on your support to keep it this way. Please donate today to help keep community radio alive! For this pledge drive, the station is excited to offer new limited edition Tshirt and baseball cap designs as gifts for donors.
