Wesleyan students organize 6th annual Waste Not collection this month

Waste Not is Wesleyan’s annual collection and tag sale, organized and run by Wesleyan students. The program has three goals: waste reduction, reduction of the number of new items students bring to campus, and financial self-sufficiency. Since its start in 2009, Waste Not has been a successful presence on campus and has raised over $20,000 for community organizations. Over the past two years, Waste Not has diverted more than 40 tons of reusable items from the incinerator through resale and donation to Goodwill Industries!

As Wesleyan students move out this May, volunteers will be collecting and storing donations that are critical for keeping the program financially self-sustaining. On September 5-6, volunteers will hold the 6th annual Waste Not Tag Sale, which will be open to the public. More information on the tag sale will be available in August.
