McKenna To Lead Police Department Until June 13
The Police Department has announced that Captain William McKenna will be appointed to the rank of Acting Deputy Chief of Police effective Monday April 11, 2011. This appointment is necessary because Acting Chief Patrick McMahon will be attending the FBI National Academy, until Monday June 13, 2011.
Moreover, Acting Deputy Chief of Police Gregory Sneed is retiring on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 to begin a position as Eastern Connecticut State University’s new Associate Director of Public Safety.
Captain McKenna will be responsible for the day to day issues regarding the police department but will be in contact with Acting Chief McMahon on a regular basis. McKenna has been with the Middletown Police for over 15 years.
Additionally, Lieutenant John Lozefski, who is currently assigned as the Investigative Services Division Executive Officer, will assume command of the this division during this same time period.
