It was acoustic sugar at The Buttonwood Tree last night when Becky Chace's voice hit the air! Often musicians will come up from Brooklyn, NY to play at TBT, but last night it was a fan who came up from the Island to see the duo who hails from Rhode Island. Other fans drove from Milford to tap their toes to the catchy and poetically-descriptive songs aptly performed by Brian and Becky (Becky Chace). Becky's voice is at once strong, soft and sweet. Brian's guitar playing was understated but brilliant! The many accolades and awards Becky Chace has received since they formed in 1998 are clearly well-deserved and everyone left The Buttonwood Tree quite satisfied and happy.
Eric Paradine opened the show with some of his own tender songwriting and melodic singing and added a wonderful down-home relaxed base to the night which was both subdued and sublime.
"...There's an authenticity to Chace that makes her music captivating, and in the same breath makes her difficult to categorize: she's a singer-songwriter who transcends a number of genres, pulling together common threads into solid music that commands a listeners' attention."
