Tuesday (11/16), lots of folks are planning to head to Eli Cannon's for the unveiling of Sierra Nevada's Beer Camp ale, Hopsichord (which I had a hand in making), and to celebrate Sierra Nevada's thirty years of sustainable brewing.
To those of you planning to attend.
1. Limited Quantities of Hopsichord - this double IPA will be served as a benefit to Gilead Community Services. A portion of the cost of every glass will go to this worthwhile non-profit. This is one of only eleven places in the country where this ale will be served. However, only a very small quantity (one half keg) is available, and once it's gone, it's gone. So, buy as many glasses as you can, but remember the early imbiber gets the brew. And BTW, there will be lots of other great Sierra Nevada brews on tap.
2. Parking Changes at Eli Cannon's - the Community Health Center has begun construction of its new headquarters on the corner of Main and Liberty Streets. So, the parking lot normally used by Eli Cannon's patrons is not available. However, arrangements have been made for additional nearby parking while construction is underway. Eli's has published a Guide to Parking (excerpted here), which shows that you can find parking North of Eli's in the Royal Printing Display Company lot, the Kings Avenue lot, and in Bob's Auto Service (after 6), along with several new onstreet spots.
3. Drink Responsibly and Bring a Designated Driver - I recommend that all my downtown neighbors who plan to attend should walk to Eli's, and to drink to your heart and your liver's content. If you plan to drive, drink responsibly and bring a designated driver.
