From the Middletown Police Department
On 6/15/10, at approx. 11:15p.m., Middletown Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of 329 DeKoven Dr., Middletown for a report of a home invasion/robbery.
Upon arrival it was determined that approx five black males, dressed in dark clothing entered the kitchen area of a third floor apartment at 329 DeKoven Dr. As one occupant attempted to push the black males out of the apartment, three of the black males produced handguns and ordered all seven occupants of the apartment into a den area. The suspects then ordered all of the occupants down to the floor at gunpoint.
While the occupants were attempting to get down on the floor, two of the occupants were struck in the head (pistol whipped) by the suspects. The suspects were then robbed of personal belongings that were in their possession (pockets) and the suspects took an X-box video game and other small items. An undermined amount of currency was stolen from the occupants. All five suspects then fled the scene and the police were contacted.
The Middletown police department’s K-9 unit responded to the area and attempted a track for the suspects with negative results.
The Middletown Police Department’s Major Investigations Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. It appears at this time that this was an isolated incident and that the suspects may have targeted the apartment. Several persons of interest are being sought out at this time.
Two of the occupant received minor non-life threatening injuries and were treated by medical personnel and were released.
The incident remains under investigation and citizens/witnesses are urged to contact the Middletown Police Department’s Major Investigations Unit with any information in regards to this incident @ 860-344-3240.
