The 13th Annual Cruise Night On Main presented by Town Fair Tire and Trantolo & Trantolo will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Main Street Middletown
This free event is presented by Town Fair Tire, Trantolo & Trantolo, and WDRC-FM; the City of Middletown, the Eastern Chapter of the Over the Hill Gang Car Club, NAPA Auto Parts, Liberty Bank, Verizon Wireless, Charles Computer Services, Frank Maratta’s Auto & Cycle Show, Downtown Business District, PIP Printing, Home Team Supply, CNX Internet Radio, and AAA Allied Group are all sponsors of the event.
Hundreds of cars are expected to line both sides of Main Street from Washington Street to the South Green. Free parking for the evening is available at the Middle Oak Corporate Center Garage on College St., Melilli Parking Arcade off Washington & Court Streets and Riverview Center Parkade with entrances on Court Street & MLK Way.
WMRD/WLIS Radio will broadcast 1950’s and 1960’s music on Main Street from in front of the Middlesex Chamber of Commerce. The Over the Hill Car Club DJ will be set up in front of Brewbakers and CNX Internet Radio in the gazebo on the South Green. WDRC-FM will be located in front of First and Last Tavern and entertainment will be provided by the Nifty Fifties Band on the main stage, which will be set up across from Riverview Center from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Music and food, combined with the array of pre-1985 classic vehicles, will make this a family event. Sponsor Awards will be announced around 8:00 p.m. Dash plaques will be given to the first 275 cars to arrive. This event will benefit Middletown Youth Programs with a suggested donation of $5 for participants. The sponsor awards will be: the Town Fair Tire Choice Award, Best in Show presented by Trantolo & Trantolo, the DRC-FM People’s Choice Award, the NAPA “Know How” Award, Liberty’s Choice Award presented by Liberty Bank, the Most Reliable Award presented by Verizon Wireless, Main Drag Award presented by Downtown Business District, Frank Maratta’s Auto & Cycle Show Dream Machine Award, the Della Terra Sweetest Ride! Award presented by Stone Depot, and the Mayor’s Choice Award presented by Middletown Mayor Sebastian Giuliano.
Over 35 of Middletown’s unique restaurants and eateries will be open that evening, which will offer a great variety of menu choices. Vendors will also be located around the event, selling specialty foods, kettle corn, scarves, dresses, hats and cars.
This event is for Pre-1985 vehicles. Special interest vehicles will be on display with prior approval by calling Mark at 250-7822. Registration for the cars will begin at 4:30 pm. by entering at the south end of Main Street. Registration signs will be posted in the area.
