National Curb Day, Saturday May 16

In Middletown, like a lot of college towns, the unofficial curb day is the final day that seniors are in town. On the morning after that day, the curb is lined with treasures, and junk, for those who love to browse the tree lawn.

Mike Morone, of Chili NY (that's chy-lie), has created National Curb Day when those of us with usable but unused items in our cellars, attics and garages, place them on the curb to be shared with those who might find a use for them.

You can read more about Curb Day here, and take the opportunity to simultaneously clean your closet and help someone who covets what you've got.

Wesleyan students put their junk on the streets and we have to clean up after them. What a great idea. Rent a dumpster like normal people do. You students cause enough problems.

During the 50's lived on Court Stree near MHS, one of the treasures I brought home was a sword, mother confiscated it and I still wonder what she did with it.
