You must be kidding.
I am not kidding. I am not sure if your comment reflects astonishment that both Doyle and Gaffey voted against repealing the death penalty or that both voted in favor of reindeer importation. Both really are true, as you can verify for yourself (click on Bill Numbers in my posting).
Mr Doyle and Gaffey make me feel secure that we can import reindeer. Can't wait to see their names on the next ballot!
Re: Fishmuscle-I was referring to the reindeer.
As for the death penalty-we dont put anybody to death anyway.I'm for it but it is just years of appeals. What I worry about is how long before the "President" and his new Supreme Court lackey repeal life without parole?
Anonymous 9:18 should have been NOBO. Pressed the wrong button.
NOBO you wear your prejudices on your sleeve. You'd like President Obama to be more like Bush who put lots of folks to death in Texas when he was gov. Capital crime disappeared there, right? Oh.
As for calling Sotomayor a lackey, it's insulting, racist, and since she hasn't been appointed yet, and without a shred of evidence to prove your (incorrect) point that she is somehow beholden to the President. It's conservative presidents who have filled the court with idealogues who proudly display their conservative prejudices, and do things like interfere in a national election.
Sorry,Ed. I didn't know being a Conservative was a requirement for being pro death penalty.
Thanks for that moral equivalency thing referring back to Bush when he was Governor of Texas. When in doubt, bash Bush! Aren't you out of those bullets yet? Couldn't find a Cheney/Halliburton reference?
Funny when Clarence Thomas,a right-leaning black man, or Alberto Gonzales, a right-leaning Hispanic man were up for nomination the Left raked them over the coals.Remember the Clarence Thomas scandal that was totally fabricated?
Once again, disagree with the Left and get labeled a racist. As anybody who knows me can attest, I am far from a racist and I take exception to being labeled as one.
NOBO, being a conservative can be a good thing. Slinging insults is another altogether.
Judging someone as a "lackey" before they have given anyone any opportunity to make any judgment is pure baloney.
Calling a Puerto Rican woman a lackey might readily be considered a racist comment whether you are a racist or not. And unfortunately, the worst judge of a racist is him or her self.
As for George Bush, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas (oh really, a made-up scandal - maybe a not-proven scandal) and Alberto Gonzales the record is clear. It's not their conservatism I object to, it's their lack of integrity, their failure to adhere to the Constitution and their failure to show judicial objectivity.
At least I criticize someone with a record worth criticizing. And there's a long way to go before we run out of bad things to say about George Bush, or reasons to say them.
Don't go all martyr on me, NOBO, when you call names you can only expect to have names called back.
So what is it you object to about Sotomayor, really?
This discussion has gotten quite heated to say the least, and Ed in total defense of NOBO you are sadly mistaken to think he is racist. That would be the furthest from the truth, opinionated without a doubt but racist no way.
Sotomayor, I would have to say very disapointed with her decision regarding the New Haven Firefighters, reverse discrimination in this country comes on the heels of opportunity.
The best man or woman wins not the candidate who meets the minority criteria to fulfill the quota so as to be politicaly correct and reap government funding.
Come on Ed I have way more respect for you than to think that you think any differant.
Tony
