City organizations prepare to lend a hand during cold weather
Middletown — The Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness announced today that a seasonal warming center will be opening in the city for anyone who needs respite from the cold. Although not a shelter, the warming center will provide an area for seating as well as hot beverages and snacks.
The center will be open daily from 9:00 PM - 7:00AM beginning November 20th at First Baptist Church, 93 Main Street. The warming center will move to Holy Trinity Church, 381 Main Street, on January 16th and continue operating until the cold weather subsides.
The warming center is operated by St. Vincent de Paul with funding provided by the City of Middletown and Middlesex Hospital.
