Foreclosure Orientation Workshops

Starting March 25th, NEAT, in partnership with Neighborhood Housing Services of New Haven, will be running foreclosure Orientation Workshops.  Most of NEAT's time will be spent doing outreach to our North End neighborhood, but these classes are open to anyone.

There is a combination of weak economy and city foreclosures that have dramatically increased the number of households entering foreclosure in the North End and Middletown...NEAT is working to keep these homes owner-occupied.

The North End, in particular has come too far to fall pray to this crisis.

Participants in the workshops will also have the opportunity to be connected with housing counselors to help them sort out the details of their specific situation.

Please see attached flier and spread the word!  This will be a continuing series and will run the fourth Thursday of every month.  Childcare will be provided by request and registration is necessary.  All workshops are FREE.

I disagree with Anonymous -- it IS a big deal to write carefully enough that people know what we mean. There is a big difference between an asker and an esker, and I never even knew what an esker was till I looked it up.

It would be helpful if writers treated this site like a written document, and not a text message; readers shouldn't have to guess what the writer is trying to say.

English is a rich and diverse language, and there's almost always a word that delivers the precise thought we are trying to convey: it's worth the extra effort to think before we write.
