One room of the Wetmore Mansion has been on display for years in Hartford at the Wadsworth Atheneum, or as it's now called, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, in case people thought an "atheneum" was a gym. --Col. T. H. Clapping
I lived two houses away from the Wetmore House when Bunny Green owned it. I used to visit her there after she lost her husband. The floor was made of wide plank floorboards that sloped incredibly. Felt like I was walking up hill sometimes. The cupboards attached to to either side of the fireplace in the sitting room were beautiful. So glad it is saved. An historic treasure.
