From the Middlesex United Way
-------------------
On March 31, Middlesex United Way Young Leaders Society will join other groups of volunteers for a Volunteer Work Day at YMCA Camp Ingersoll in Portland. Hurricane Irene and Winter Storm Alfred caused damage at the camp, therefore the groups will help clean up and prepare for the upcoming camp season. Volunteers are asked to bring their own work gloves and the camp will supply all other necessary materials, please dress appropriately for outdoor work and bring sunscreen. Lunch will be provided by Camp Ingersoll.
“YMCA Camp Ingersoll serves more than 650 campers per day on our 77 acres Outdoor Center during the summer months. In order to provide a high quality and safe summer experience, we rely on volunteers to help get our property in order,” says Tony Sharillo, Youth and Camp Ingersoll Director. “This year especially we are in need of assistance, as the tropical storm and October snow storm brought down a large amount of limbs and trees throughout the camp. It is due to the dedication of our camp family and friends in the community that we are able to get the camp together in time for the summer.”
The Young Leaders Society is a unique and dynamic group providing community involvement, personal development and networking for individuals or couples 40 years of age or younger who live and work in Middlesex County. Our mission is to create opportunities for young professionals to get involved with Middlesex United Way, connect with colleagues and community leaders, and give back to advance the common good.
YMCA Camp Ingersoll is located at 94 Camp Ingersoll Road, Portland.
