Buttonwood Patrons Take Journey ... Piano Concert Today at 4

Last night the John Funkhouser Trio got pretty funky and took The Buttonwood Tree's patrons on a journey from the wild abstract over mountains of diverse sounds to a smooth and peaceful meadow. John's last number was a new one for the band and it involved directly touching the strings while he played the keyboard. The audience was enthralled with the performance which often had John playing both the piano and electric keyboard at the same time. Clearly a passionate musician, John led his apt trio and the audience on a wonderful journey which we all enjoyed.

Today we have a concert at 4 pm - a double bill of newcomers to TBT. Orice Jenkins by request - an extremely talented young Hartford native who brings his trio to do a bit of jazz and reveals his new acoustic folk and a touring artist, Emily Hurd. Both will play piano, which is holding up well since recent repairs. See more at: http://www.buttonwood.org/?m=20120311&cat=3
