Keigwin and Woodrow Wilson Students To Perform Wednesday

From Debbie Stanley, Lead Recreation Supervisor, Parks and Recreation Department.
-------------
Unified Theater (made up of students of all talents and abilities from Keigwin and Woodrow Wilson) in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department, will be performing Wednesday, February 15th at 6:30 pm. at Keigwin Middle School with refreshments afterwards.

The students have been working very hard and it is truly amazing the friendships that have been made, the creative ideas that have come to life and the true inclusion of all students as equals that is at the heart of the program. We have a student director, producer, stage manager, choreographers and more. This production is 100% student led and organized. Students wrote the skits, dialogue and created all the numbers.

Keigwin and Woodrow Wilson students will lead this production (and while the purpose of the program is more about the process than the product- it is a show you won't want to miss!) and I wouldn't be surprised if it brings a tear to your eye.

Some information about Unified Theater (in case you haven't already heard of this wonderful program!)...

"Unified Theater is a student-driven initiative that facilitates inclusion of students with disabilities through the performing arts."

"The concept is simple: let teens lead, let creativity rule and treat people with disabilities as complete and entire equals."
