Personal Property Declaration Deadline Extended

From the Mayor's Office.
------------
Due to the declaration of a state of emergency due to the severe winter storm and unprecedented power outages throughout the state, as well as several road closures caused by fallen trees making travel difficult and delivery of personal property declarations impractical. As per the direction of Mayor Sebastian N. Giuliano and Governor Dannel P. Malloy the filing deadline for submitting a declaration of personal property has been extended from November 1st to November 15, 2011.

Personal property declarations are required to be filed annually with the Assessor to report all taxable personal property such as; unregistered motor vehicles, farm machinery and equipment, horses and ponies, and all equipment used in the operation of a business.

This applies to all taxpayers required to file.

Questions may be directed to the Assessors Office at 860-344-3454
