Joy and Peace Center Stage with Hannah Christianson at Buttonwood

Joy and Peace were both center stage at The Buttonwood Tree Performing Arts & Cultural Center (TBT) on June 14th, when the two sisters from Philadelphia took their place in the spotlight. Joy Ike and her sister, Peace, began the second set in a double-billed concert with Hannah Christianson. The two sisters drove from Philly and met up with Hannah Christianson, who came down from Boston. Joy has been a fan of Hannah's for years, and was delighted to literally share the stage with her for their final number - a song of Hannah's during which she invited the audience to sing along. The show was very heartfelt, as are all shows at TBT.

Saturday night, June 15th, while the genre was different, it was another fantastic event.  George Cole and his band are a real class act! Cole had the audience engaged at every moment, playing music that was top notch and telling stories that revealed his wit as well as his talent. From San Francisco, George Cole and his band were simply amazing and have been all over the world, playing with other top-rated musicians including Shania Twain, Joe Walsh and others. Kaeli Earle on bass was elegant, poised and graceful, an amazing feat for an upright bass player!
They did an encore in the bookstore and got everyone moving - what a surprise!
Tonight, June 19 at 8 pm, a belly dancing presentation will fill the evening. Evening Oasis will be joining TBT for their final show of the summer. Beautiful dancers will put on a fun show complete with music, traditional dress, and of course dancing! This is a show you won't want to miss. Everyone is welcome for this entertaining and empowering event. There is a $5 suggested donation and all proceeds will benefit TBT. Come see them before they take a hiatus for the summer!
