Support Local Conservation and Spruce Up Your Yard!

Think local...plant natives! Spring is coming and pre-ordering for our CT Native Plant and Plug Sale is now underway.

Our online store is open for business at www.conservect.org/product-category/crccd/. Some of our plants, including our landscape plugs, are only available for sale in the webstore, so we encourage you to have a look! Also, you can see photos and learn more about the plants on our webstore. Our sale brochure and order form are also available on our Plant Sale page,
www.conservect.org/ctrivercoastal/plant-sale/.

It may still be winter, but it’s not too soon to plan for spring planting!  Now is the time to take advantage of the wide variety of CT native shrubs, ground covers, evergreen trees, flowering

perennials, ferns, grasses, and culinary herbs offered in our 2020 sale. Whether you'd like to enhance your landscape with natives, grow your own berries, have an herb garden, provide food and cover for wildlife, attract butterflies, hummingbirds and songbirds, promote pollinator health and survival, improve drainage with a rain garden, or protect water quality…you won't be disappointed in our selection!

New for this year are evergreen trees sold as plugs—rooted in soil, plugs don’t need to be planted immediately, have less transplant shock, and have a greater rate of survival than bare root seedlings. We also have an expanded selection of landscape plugs available for purchase on our online store. These are a low cost and easy way to plant a landscape.

Order plants now for pick-up April 24-25, 2020 at the Chester Fairgrounds, Kirtland Terrace, Chester, CT.  Advance orders are due April 6, 2020, but we recommend ordering early for the best selection. Most plants are pre-ordered, but we will also have extra plants available on the days of the sale, including additional types of flowering perennials.

The plant sale is our main fundraising event, and proceeds are used to support our conservation, environmental education and technical assistance programs. For more information or to sign up for our mailing list, contact us at ctrivercoastal@conservect.org or 860-346-3282.
