Contra Dance at Wesleyan this Friday

If you like traditional folk music and dance, and you haven't made it to one of these events yet, you're missing out!

Contra dancing is an energetic folk dance and a great way to meet new people. Beginners absolutely welcome. Live music. Snacks provided.  You don't need to bring a partner -- just show up, and people will ask you to join in.  All dances are taught, and the music is full of energy -- it gets you moving!

Friday April 4th
8-11 PM
Place: Beckham Hall, Fayerweather building, Wesleyan Campus (on Wyllys Ave)
Cost: free and open to the public (optional donation)

This month’s dance features music from a hot new folk band of Yale students — “Pitnacree” — with two fiddles, cittern, whistle, upright bass, and piano.  Dances will be taught by one of the best young callers in the contradance scene: Michael Hamilton, from Akron OH.

Hope to see you there!
