Whether for economic, health or environmental reasons, an increasing number of Americans are taking a much more active role in producing their own food. One of the most direct ways of pursuing this goal is growing a vegetable garden in your yard or a community garden. Once the decision is made to grow a garden, the next step is to decide how to provide the plants for your garden, to buy them or grow them from seed. This can be a fascinating process that not only saves you money, but also allows you a much greater variety of vegetables from which to choose. And surprisingly, it's not really that difficult to produce healthy seedlings that will thrive in your garden.

Many seeds ARE planted at the library.
I'm always afraid to try this because of the fear that my plants would not grow. Maybe this is the time that I need to set aside my fear and start gardening.
