Stan Scott to Perform at Wesleyan

Dr. Stan Scott is a teacher, accomplished performer, and dedicated explorer of the world’s many different musical styles. On March 25th, Scott will perform several original compositions as well as traditional Irish and Bengali music on guitar, mandolin, and banjo at Wesleyan University.

Dr. Scott instructs Wesleyan students in North Indian vocal music, guitar, banjo, and mandolin through the Music Department. He has performed at Ireland's Willie Clancy Week and Clare Festival of Traditional Singing, Calcutta's Rabindra Sadan, and Mumbai's National Centre for the Performing Arts.  His performances and compositions grow out of thirty years of research and voyages of musical exploration to Ireland and India.  In addition to teaching at Wesleyan, Dr. Scott lectures on North Indian music at Yale University and the University of Connecticut (Storrs), and teaches World Music at Southern Connecticut State University.

The performance will take place on Thursday, March 25th at 7pm in the Daniel Family Commons on the third floor of Wesleyan’s Usdan University Center, located at 45 Wyllys Avenue in Middletown. Admission is free.
